Plein Air: The Wood at the Bottom of the Garden

We were invited to a beautiful private garden for our August Plein Air - situated at the end of a long track at a lovely spot just above Linford Bottom.

Set on a steep slope, informal flower beds gave way to woodland. Paths meandered. Butterflies and bees drifted lazily from flower to flower. The weather was cloudy at first, giving way to splashes of sunshine. Perfect for plein air - some members even managed more than one picture. We had the most delightful morning.

As we left, our kind hostess wondered if we might be interested in a return fixture in the Autumn, when the colour would be very good. …
