We welcome back Lisa Takahashi for a days tutored workshop - Vibrant Mixed Media Landscape - not watercolour and Still Life as previously advertised.

Join artist Lisa Takahashi for a lively landscape painting demonstration inspired by bold shapes, vibrant colour, and the play of light. Lisa will explore colour relationships and layering techniques, showing how to create depth and atmosphere in your work.

Her approach is influenced by Modern British artists such as Eric Ravilious and John Piper, bringing a fresh, contemporary perspective to traditional landscape painting. Rooted in the tradition of watercolour, Lisa enjoys exploring unconventional techniques, often incorporating drawing, monotype and collage to create dramatic, expressive pieces.

This demonstration is perfect for anyone looking to gain insight into Lisa’s creative process, experiment with colour, and discover how to make their paintings sing. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about a hands-on workshop later in the year, where you can try these techniques for yourself.

Members exhibiting at the Annual Summer Exhibition can hand in and have exhibits adjudicated today.

Hand in at Greyfriers Community Centre room to be announced

Time table for 17th August -

09.00 Committee Meeting at Greyfriars;

09.30 Chief Stewards Meeting;

10.30 Hand in begins

Each exhibitor to be provided with a pack containing:

• Name header

• Artwork labels

• Cloakroom tickets with their catalogue numbers

• White tac

Exhibitors to white tac the cloakroom ticket and name label to the correct picture before handing it over to the hanging team. Hanging team to display work with labels by the work, (cloakroom tickets on the frame clearly visible to the photographer) and name header on the board.

Following Hand-in - Tidy the exhibition and photograph all the exhibits.

Members’ and invited guests are welcome to join us at Greyfriers for a preview of Ringwood Art Society members’ exhibit, in the presence of the Mayor of Ringwood Rae Frederick.

Preview evening will commence at 7pm

The Exhibition is open daily between 19th and 31st August.

This is the last day of the Summer Exhibition and doors will close at 4.45pm

Our thanks to all who came to see our artwork and those who purchased works of art!
