Classes for Beginners and Improvers 2
The art classes with Amy are off to a great start, with the first lesson being a lovely introduction to using graphite pencils. Amy taught us about shading to show shape and form, and also how to use the different grades of pencils and types of rubbers to achieve specific results.
In the second class we focused on mark making, again using pencils. We explored how you can achieve different results using differing techniques, for example cross hatching, lines at varying distances apart, to create shapes and textures in a pencil drawing.
In the most recent class we put these techniques together, alongside planning out a picture using basic shapes and lines to draw animals, with wonderful results! Amy is a brilliant, patient and kind teacher, and we're all really looking forward to our ink and wash class next week!
