RAS Plein Air Event - Saturday, 8th June

A new venture especially aimed at those who can't usually join us on our weekday Plein Air sessions - and anyone who hasn't joined in a plein air session before. Members and non-members will be welcome.

We'll be working from 10.00 - 2.00, so bring your sketchbooks, coloured pencils, charcoal or paints along and have a go in the (hopefully) glorious sunshine.

It’s going to be very informal. You can work where you like, in whatever medium you like and for as long as you like. If you want to spend half an hour with pencils and a sketchbook - excellent! If you want to spend a few hours on a painting - hurrah! If you want to bring a friend - the more the merrier! Non members very welcome! Bring your work along at 2.00 to share it with the rest of the participants. We'll have some judging at 2.30 and there will be a small prize - which you can enter if you like.

We’ll have some photos of points of interest on this page soon just to help you decide where to go.

Timetable:

10.00 Check in the Market Square in front of the church

10.00-2.00 Artists work in and around Ringwood for as long as they want.

2.00 Artists finish working and return to the Market Square in front of the church

2.00 – 2.15 Artist set up their work along the wall. Mutual admiration!

2.30 Judging, for those who want to enter their work, followed by a small prize.

Obviously, we would like whatever you produce to go up on our website and Instagram so if our official photographer doesn’t catch you, please take a photo of your work and send it in to ringwoodartsocietyuk@gmail.com .

Obviously, this event is weather dependent. If the weather doesn’t seem suitable, we will post a cancellation notice on the event page of the RAS website, RAS Facebook and Instagram before 18.00 on Friday, 7th June. If we know you are coming and we have your email address, we will cancel by email.
